My Core: Isolated. You fear love. Though you are love itself. Does that mean I fear myself?

[glow=red,2,300] I was just thinking, and I was wondering... if you ever write stories and/or poems, where do you get your inspiration and ideas? I can imagine that most of the people here have very creative imaginations.. and that might be where most of it comes from, but what if you really want to write but you are stuck on what exactly to write about? [shadow=purple,left,90000]Good thread April! From society, from ppl around, from the feelings inside, from the nature, from dreams, from others works... lol, so much things where I can get my inspiration. lol
But to answer the second question, I donno. I'm never really stuck when I wanna write. I mean, I write when I got things to write about so it includes that I already know what I wanna write. The problem doesn't come from lack of inspiration really for me, it comes from the difficulty to find accurate words, form and so on. That's it for me, what about others ? [/shadow]

Thanks Frenchy
I remember a looooong time ago when I was younger and went to this writing workshop, the instructor told us that a good way to find ideas is to always carry a little notebook and wherever you go, listen to the conversations around you and write down what you hear because it just might give you a beginning to a story. I've kind of forgotten about that through the years, but I still come back to it sometimes.
But, I mainly get my inspiration solely from my personal experiences. It's so much easier to express what you're trying to write when you have actually experienced the emotions yourself. I've always thought that a good writer is one who can paint a picture in the reader's head as they read the story, and actually imagine every detail, what the character looks like, the scenes, the landscape, everything! Other people might see it differently though.
I know whenever I get stuck though, I have to completely stop writing altogether to get inspired once more.

[shadow=red,left,300] I just thought I'd add my favorite quote here about inspiration. It perfectly describes how I feel about it. It is from Jeff Shaara, who is the author of the books Gods and Generals and The Last Full Measure. These are books about the American civil war in the 1860's. It's part of a trilogy and the 2 books that Jeff wrote were continuations of his father, Michael Shaara's book The Killer Angels, which goes in between Jeff's two books. Anyways, here's the quote:
I love that quote. Michael & Jeff Shaara are such good authors, thats exactly how they write, they show it very vividly and dont just tell the story. I like authors like that, that describe the situations as if I can picture it in my head. [/shadow]

I get my inspiration from watching the people around me. I find that large groups of people make for very interesting writing.

What kind of stuff do you write about if you don't mind me asking?
