[glow=purple,3,9000000]A word about Stigmata first : Rupert Wainwright is really some director ! I mean, the images, the shots, it's all amazing. The egg (I know sounds odd) the tears, the scene in the bathtub, the water drops... just so many images he got so right to create such an atmosphere !!! *runs to see his filmography & watch his other movies*
Now.... about this movie Family Life:
A review found on the net :
An unintended pregnancy leads to horrific psychological consequences for a teenage girl whose parents force her to get an abortion. When her family seeks counseling for her, she is directed through a mental health institution that exacerbates her problems with harsh, controversial "therapies" in this harrowing film directed by social realist filmmaker Ken Loach (LADYBIRD,LADYBIRD). FAMILY LIFE was originally produced for BBC television.
Now my opinion (for its lil worth )
I've been advised this movie by some friend who actually knows me better than I thought. It's a sort of message & I got it. The movie itself is not very good in the filming, I mean it's kinda old, & independent movie, but the core of the movie, the meaning is so amazing. It's actually about smothering parents, who drives their daughter schizo being too possessive. That's scary how she got. I guess I wasn't far from her character for a time, & seeing this I'm like omg, great i didn't become like her. That's crazy !!! Such a power, they convince her she's bad & all. And she is so stuck, I mean whatever she tries, she's too weak to get out, even with her sis help. I can't really describe the movie, but it is a great one ! Show how can parents be so bad & how society sometimes don't help the good person, & how necessary it would be to have controls on parents & their behavior with their kids!!! [/glow]

It has been out a while, but Collateral is a excellent movie. One of Tom Cruise's finer movies.

Land of Plenty "After years of living abroad with her American missionary father, Lana (Michelle Williams) returns to the United States to begin her studies. But instead of focusing on her education, Lana sets out to find her only other living relative - her uncle Paul, her deceased mother’s brother. A Vietnam veteran, Paul is a reclusive vagabond with deep emotional war wounds. A tragic event witnessed by the two unites them in a common goal to rectify a wrong, and takes them on a journey of healing, discovery, and kinship." www.wim-wenders.com/movies/movies_spec/landofplenty/land-of-plenty.htm
I liked it. It's great to have an image of LA other than the glows & sparkles of Holywood. I was surprised by Michelle Williams coz I choosed the movie in the hurry without knowing anything about it & when I saw her at first on the screen I thought "sh*t it's gonna be a bad movie". But as matter of fact, she played greatly her part, & was even moving. A good surprise it was. Plus the movie was meanwhile funny & serious, not a BIG or AMAZING movie, but great to spend a good time & reflecting a lil bit over 9/11. The soundtracks are great too !
When Harry met Sally "The witty and likeable, lightweight, old-fashioned romantic comedy, When Harry Met Sally... (1989) was intended to answer the sexual politics question, "Can two friends sleep together and still love each other in the morning?" The engaging, episodic film keenly observes romance, relationships between males and females, friendship and sex. Two long-time acquaintances Harry Burns (Billy Crystal) and Sally Albright (Meg Ryan) grapple with this question over a 12-year period (beginning in the spring of 1977), as their relationship grows and matures. Their love is not "at first sight" but takes years to develop." www.filmsite.org/when.html
Hilarous. It's a classic that I had never seen so far (shame on me) & I loved it. I recommend it if by some unfortunate chance some ppl haven't seen it yet.

Kill Bill Volume 1. I saw this at the theater, bought it on dvd the other day so I could watch the fight scenes. The movie isnt all that great but the action is awesome!!!!!! I also bought the movie House of the Dead on video for $5.00 when I got Kill Bill because i'd never seen it before and wanted to watch it. It was pretty dumb, it's based on an arcade game. The movie was so dumb that it was funny, and all the sudden during parts of the movie they show some random footage from the video game. And the kids on the island, well teens... They where all on the island and when they started fighting the zombies they where like little commandos or something, suddenly they all knew how to fight perfectly. And this one asian girl's name was Liberty and she was doing karate moves on the zombies, than she died and this guy screamed her name, "LIBERTY!!!!" Lmao, anyways, this movies good for a laugh or two......

“the whole time I was in that house I felt something was wrong” 12:01 am was when they finally dimmed the lights and began to show the theatrical trailers for the upcoming movies mostly of the horror genre. The Grudge you exceeded my expectations but I still would like to see the original Ju-On. Buffy running away is a new concept and hard to conceive but Sarah Michelle Gellar you are NOT type casted at all. You kicked ass in that movie with very less dialogue and you even rocked Japanese. Your facial expressions were enough to spook us all and that made the audience feel what you were feeling just by one look. WOW and there is a huge possibility of a sequel. I still can’t get over it. The way they put together the film is pretty krazy with flashback sequences but not really because nobody is actually doing the flashback but they are showing you what happened before that led up to whats happen now. Just everything about it was amazing. At one point some dumbass yelled out “slay him buffy” to Sarah Michelle Gellar’s character when she was in danger but I gotta admit that was pretty hilarious. You guys HAVE to see this movie. Its no lie when people say its bad ass. Come on would I lie to you?

Is the movie The deep end of the ocean really taking place in Wisconsin, or is it just a pretend, & taking place in Hollywood? Coz the landscapes are so lovely in the movie.
& about landscapes, does anyone know where the family is going on vacation in the movie Beethoven 2 ? Coz these are the most amazing ones I ever saw, that what made me go to US the first time ever, when I was little girl (I still am a lil girl tho, but I meant littleler, lol).

I got to see The Grudge on Saturday, at first it was looking like I wasnt oing to get to go but I made it. The movie was awesome. Lol, there where tons of girls in the theater and whenever something happened they would all scream. I never really got scared but I jumped a little bit around the beginning because I wasnt expecting something to happen. The ghost in the movie looked cool. The main ghost, there's also a little boy ghost. I only thought there was one before I saw the movie. They say they're in works to do a sequel with Sarah Michelle Gellar. They said that with the success, or popularity, or whatever with this one that the next is on the fast track. Also they said they want to make a third movie so that it's a trilogy. For all the info go here...... www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movies/thegrudge2.phpFor pictures from The Grudge go here: groups.msn.com/SpiritRoom/thegrudge.msnw?albumlist=2Before I went to see The Grudge I watched Garfield. That movie sucked. Garfield looked all computer animated. All the animals could speak expect the dog Garfields owner got which didnt make sense. The whole movie just sucked. Jennifer Love Hewitt was in the movie, she hasnt been in much lately and than to come back with that, I think her career is slowly dying away. Also earlier I found out information on a new movie. Apparently they're making a Dawn of the Dead 2. I don't know how this would work. Dawn of the Dead is the sequel to Night of the Living Dead. Dawn of the Dead 2 is a sequel to the remake. But they're remaking Day of the Dead which is the 3rd movie. And they're also making a new movie called Land of the Dead which would be the 4th movie and they're both going to come out before Dawn of the Dead 2. Anyways, yeah, it just seems kinda dumb and confusing, maybe this will be considered a prequel?

[glow=navy,3,9000000] Léon (The Professional) www.film.u-net.com/Movies/Reviews/Leon.html
During the break I watched Léon. It was only because it was on TV coz i wasn't too eager on it. My friends, various ones with various tastes in movies even, all told me I had to watch it, & I was like "about a sniper, what I care?"... so i watched it & I felt stupid for beeing stuborn then coz I LOVED the movie. The lil Nathalie Portman (Star Wars if you remember) plays so well & Jean reno for once is great!

[glow=blue,2,900000] CLOSER Starring : Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Clive Owen www.moviesonline.ca/film927.htm
I think the accurate word for this movie is "disturbing". No good no bad one, or more exactly, they are not who you think they are. Plus the ending with Alice is quite surprising... make you ponder about the whole movie. Good one anyway!

[glow=navy,2,9000000]I finally watched Finding Neverland & I soooo loved it. My gosh how sad was it, I spent the last part of the movie crying. I never knew that my favorite story had such a background. Now, I would have liked to meet Barrie as much I would have liked to meet Tolkien. Maybe more... it's not like you would be bored with this man. I'll have to check sources though, to make sure what is true in the movie, & what is fiction. But anyway, great movie ![/glow]

[/glow]
[glow=red,2,9000000] THE GRUDGE Alright, I should have watched it with Linoa at the theater, but the very day we went, it wasn't on anymore, since the day just before. We were pissed. So I've watched it in the little screen, alone for I couldn't wait... & I confess I found it quite frightening... I may have been scared had I seen it on the big theater screen. Now... he he he, I'll have to show it to Lin... then I'll have fun scaring her out of hell !!! Muhahahaha

[glow=teal,2,900000]A BEAUTIFUL MIND That's some movie! I loved it! I don't think I should say anything about it because I may reveal the big thing of the movie... only it's a bit long in the beginning, but necessary & worth watching! The movie deserved the 4 oscars it got. [/glow]

[glow=purple,2,900000]The AVIATOR
I'm not so fond of biographic movie, & I above all dislike Leonardo Di Caprio... but I have to admit he plays really really well in this movie. I guess it's cause Scorsese is directing him... this movie is amazing to show the obsessional behavior... the actress too were good, particularily the one playing Ava Garner... she really looked like the actress at that time. So, not the best movie ever, but the events that happened to that man are wow! Oh & of course, like planes too so maybe that why I liked. lol[/glow]

The Aviator was an excellent movie, like Faithy said, if you are into biographical movies. I enjoyed all of it, but it seemed a little too long. Leo does a great job as does the rest of the cast.
